In late July 2026 Czech authorities reported that just over half of the cereal area and about two‑thirds of the rapeseed area had been harvested. Yields were already projected to be lower than the previous year because of hail, heavy rain, spring frosts and a dry summer.

However, the Czech Statistical Office later estimated the final grain harvest at 6.39 million tonnes, a 16.9 % drop—the lowest in 14 years—while rapeseed was projected at 808 000 t, more than 20 % down and the weakest in 21 years. Basic cereal production is expected to fall about 17 % year‑on‑year, with potential farmer revenue losses of 8‑20 billion CZK. Existing grain stocks and possible imports should limit immediate consumer‑price pressure, but prolonged drought could raise feed and ingredient costs later in the year.
