Several cultural landmarks in the Czech Republic are reopening following extensive renovations.

In Prague, the Průmyslový palác at the Výstaviště complex is reopening after an 18-year period of reconstruction following a major fire in 2008. The project, costing approximately three billion CZK, involved restoring the historic structure and constructing a new left wing with a steel structure designed to match the proportions of the original right wing. Restoration efforts included work on the 2,737-square-meter painted wooden ceiling and the return of the St. Wenceslas crown to the central hall, which had been replaced by a red star in 1949.

To mark the reopening, the venue has organized guided tours, art installations by Barbora Šlapetová and Lukáš Rittstein, and outdoor exhibitions. While interior tour tickets have sold out, free outdoor programs and multimedia art projects are available. The palace will host various events, including the Designblok festival.

Additionally, the Václav Čtvrtek Library in Jičín is scheduled to open on September 29 after a three-year reconstruction. Designed by a1Architects, the project cost 82 million CZK—an increase from the initial 70 million CZK due to inflation and unforeseen structural repairs in the basement and eastern wing. Supported by a 60 million CZK European subsidy, the nearly 100-year-old building has been modernized to be barrier-free, adding an elevator, a new gallery, a reading room, and a lecture hall.
