In August 2026, the Regional Court in Ostrava commenced the trial of an international criminal group accused of smuggling 400 kilograms of red phosphorus from Ukraine into the Czech Republic and Poland. Prosecutor Michal Togner noted that the seized chemical was intended to produce over one ton of methamphetamine, with a potential black market value exceeding 1.2 billion CZK.

During the same month, Czech police conducted separate operations to dismantle domestic production rings. In the South Moravian Region, tactical units raided multiple locations, seizing methamphetamine, cooking apparatus, and cash. In a different operation covering the South Bohemian and Central Bohemian regions, authorities disrupted a group that had been under investigation since the previous August. This group involved individuals responsible for sourcing precursors, manufacturing the drug, and managing nationwide distribution.

By late August, police reported continued success in disrupting organized narcotics groups. In Brno, a four-month investigation led to the dismantling of a gang, resulting in the seizure of 750,000 CZK in cash and half a kilogram of drugs. Authorities also maintained focus on large-scale production and distribution networks within the South Bohemian region.
