In August 2026, multiple large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) were launched in the Czech Republic to enhance grid stability and flexibility.

TGA Central, a subsidiary of TGA Holding, opened a facility in Kunčice near Ostrava with an investment exceeding 600 million CZK. The unit provides a power output of 12.5 megawatts and a capacity of 33 megawatthours. Managing director Robin Peška stated the system is designed to stabilize the electrical grid by storing surplus energy and discharging it during low production periods.

Shortly after, MND launched a 10-megawatt BESS in Hodonín. This facility utilizes a proprietary Energy Management System and trading algorithms to optimize electricity storage and discharge based on market conditions and weather. MND, part of the KKCG group, intends to invest over one billion Czech koruna into large-capacity storage this year and is developing additional projects in Orlová, Mušov, Bruzovice, Blansko, Germany, and Ukraine.
