The Czech Republic has been named the guest of honor for the Frankfurt Book Fair in October 2026. The exhibition, themed ‘Czechia: A Country on the Coast’, will feature a 2,300 m² pavilion designed by the architectural studio JinJan and will utilize technologies such as generative AI and real-time robotic comic drawing to showcase modern literature.

In preparation for the event, an international jury led by Professor Alessandro Catalano selected three female authors through an anonymous manuscript competition. The winners—Iva Hadj Moussa for ‘Krávy’, Veronika Opatřilová for ‘Barva duše’, and Ludmila Svozilová for ‘Jezero’—will receive 80,000 CZK each. To support international promotion, excerpts of their works will be translated into English, German, French, and Spanish. The selected authors will personally present their works during the fair, which is scheduled to run from October 7 to 11.
