In late September 2026, the President of the Czech Senate, Miloš Vystrčil, presented silver commemorative medals to 17 individuals on St. Wenceslas Day. The honors recognized excellence in various fields and contributions to the Czech Republic’s international reputation, including economists, human rights defenders, journalists covering the war in Ukraine, and NHL players David Pastrňák and Jakub Voráček for their foundation work.

Following these honors, the Club of Sports Journalists held its annual ceremonies. The Ondrej Sekora Awards posthumously recognized journalistic legends and presented awards for books, articles, and television. Additionally, Patrik Schick won the 30th Zlatý míč (Golden Ball) poll, securing the title through consistent performance throughout the year in both the Bundesliga and with the national team.
