Water utility companies in the Czech Republic are implementing various infrastructure and resource management projects to secure supplies and modernize systems.

In the Central Bohemian region, Vodárny Kladno – Mělník is planning an investment exceeding one billion CZK to construct a new water intake and treatment plant on the Vltava River. This project seeks to provide up to 250 liters of water per second to support population growth near Prague. Meanwhile, in Northern Bohemia, the Severočeská voda group invested over one hundred million CZK in 2025 to mitigate pollution risks and protect water sources, while utilizing renewable energy to cover roughly one-quarter of its consumption.

In Prague, Pražská vodohospodářská společnost (PVS) has completed a 396 million CZK coarse pre-treatment facility at the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant (ÚČOV). Executed by STRABAG Rail, the facility began construction in October 2023 and entered trial operation in August 2024. The plant utilizes four mechanically cleaned coarse screens to capture debris, which is then pressed, washed, and moved into closed containers for disposal or potential fuel use. To protect main pumping station equipment and reduce local emissions, the facility includes advanced deodorization units and features photovoltaic panels on its roof. This project is part of a broader investment cycle in Prague, which includes a seven billion CZK water line and a planned 4.78 billion CZK reconstruction of an existing line.
