Sources: 4. Developments: 2. Czech academic institutions are expanding their research and teaching capacities through new funding and infrastructure developments. The University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague (VŠCHT) has secured significant support for international mobility and research. Through the Chemical Fellows VI project, co-financed by the European Union, the university will host six international researchers and send staff abroad for research stays. Furthermore, seven research groups at VŠCHT have obtained funding via the Jan Amos Komenský Operational Programme for interdisciplinary projects covering fields such as energy conversion, regenerative medicine, and sustainable development. In addition to funding, new physical facilities are being inaugurated. The Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (ČZU) opened Lesovna, a wood-based research and teaching building designed as a ‘living laboratory’. Meanwhile, the University of Ostrava launched the LERCO research center, a nearly two-billion CZK project supported by the Just Transition Operational Program.
