Following an eight-point loss to the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb addressed media scrutiny, suggesting the franchise’s high profile often leads to “overreaction.” Lamb noted that while the team’s brand provides a spotlight, players must maintain composure through both success and failure. In a subsequent high-performance game, Lamb recorded eight catches for 153 yards and two touchdowns. During this matchup, quarterback Dak Prescott set a new franchise record for career touchdown passes, reaching 249 career touchdowns with a pass to Lamb. Lamb emerged as a dominant offensive force, recording 498 receiving yards and four touchdowns through the early stages of the 2026 season. However, his availability has become increasingly uncertain due to multiple injuries. After sustaining a high-ankle sprain against the Chicago Bears, Lamb was expected to miss the Week 4 matchup against the Green Bay Packers and the Week 5 game against the New York Jets. Team owner Jerry Jones noted that placing Lamb on injured reserve remained a possibility. During the Week 5 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Lamb exited in the second half with a quadriceps injury, recording only two receptions for nine yards. The Cowboys lost that contest 24-16, bringing their season record to 2-3. While a specific diagnosis and return timeline for the quadriceps injury have not been confirmed, his availability for upcoming games remains uncertain. Following a 2-4 start to the season, Lamb expressed optimism regarding the Cowboys' chances to win the NFC East, stating, “Anybody can win this division, so why not us?” He described the team's current situation as “shocking” but remains confident in a postseason opportunity. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-24: CeeDee Lamb remains optimistic for Cowboys despite 2-4 start Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb maintains that the NFC East is still up for grabs despite Dallas' 2-4 record and a recent offensive slump heading into their Week 7 game against the Eagles. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/ceedee-lamb-remains-optimistic-for-cowboys-despite-2-4-start ### 2026-10-09: CeeDee Lamb suffers quadriceps injury during Cowboys loss Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb left the Week 5 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a quadriceps injury, limiting him to two catches for nine yards. 5 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/ceedee-lamb-suffers-quadriceps-injury-during-cowboys-loss ### 2026-10-04: CeeDee Lamb to miss at least two games with ankle injury Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is set to miss at least two games, including matchups against the Packers and Jets, due to a high-ankle sprain sustained against the Chicago Bears. 6 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/ceedee-lamb-to-miss-at-least-two-games-with-ankle-injury ### 2026-10-01: CeeDee Lamb nears Dallas Cowboys receiving records Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb is nearing franchise receiving records while leading the team's offense amid a 1-2 start to the NFL season. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/ceedee-lamb-nears-dallas-cowboys-receiving-records ### 2026-09-19: Dallas Cowboys players reach milestones amid NFL drug test Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb underwent NFL drug testing following a 153-yard, two-touchdown performance, while quarterback Dak Prescott set a new franchise career touchdown record. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/dallas-cowboys-players-reach-milestones-amid-nfl-drug-test ### 2026-09-18: CeeDee Lamb addresses Cowboys scrutiny after loss to Giants Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb addressed media scrutiny following the Dallas Cowboys' loss to the New York Giants, noting the intense spotlight on the high-profile franchise. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/ceedee-lamb-addresses-cowboys-scrutiny-after-loss-to-giants --- Cite as: CeeDee Lamb injury status and Cowboys performance.
