Professional boxer Dalton Smith successfully defended his WBC super-lightweight title against Alberto Puello at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield, England. In a 12-round contest that went the full distance, Smith secured a split-decision victory, extending his unbeaten professional record to 20-0.

The judges' scorecards were closely divided: two officials scored the bout 115-113 in favor of Smith, while the third judge awarded it 116-112 for the Dominican challenger, Puello. The match was described as a tactical, high-level affair in which Smith used distance control and timing to counter Puello’s volume and southpaw movement.

This victory represents Smith’s first successful title defense since his knockout win over Subriel Matias in January. Following the bout, Smith expressed an ambition to headline future events at Hillsborough Stadium and named American boxer Shakur Stevenson as a potential future opponent.
