Damian Lillard has returned to the Portland Trail Blazers following a 528-day absence caused by a ruptured left Achilles tendon sustained in April 2025. In his preseason return against Golden State, the 36-year-old veteran recorded 15 points in 19 minutes, including three three-pointers.

Lillard expressed confidence in his physical state, stating, “I don’t expect to be different from who I have always been,” and noting that he feels “explosive in both directions.”

In addition to his recovery, Lillard is targeting a new milestone: becoming the sole record holder for the NBA Three-Point Contest. Having won the title in 2023, 2024, and 2026, a fourth victory in 2027 would allow him to surpass Larry Bird and Craig Hodges.
