Sources: 9. Developments: 2. Daniel Maldini experienced a period of significant professional recognition in late 2026. In September, the Cagliari attacker was named the club’s player of the month following decisive performances and goals against Lecce, Atalanta, and Udinese. His club form led to a call-up by manager Roberto Mancini for the Italian national team. Maldini made his international debut during a Nations League match against Belgium, entering the game as a substitute in the 62nd minute. During the match, he attempted to create offensive opportunities and received a yellow card in the 90th minute for a tactical foul. By October 2026, Maldini achieved a milestone by scoring in four consecutive Serie A matches, becoming the first Cagliari player to do so since João Pedro in 2020. This scoring streak included an opening goal in a 1-1 draw against Juventus. Amidst this success, reports indicate Maldini is under a transfer agreement with Atalanta. Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini noted that the club holds a right, and potentially an obligation, to purchase the player permanently for 8 million euros if specific goal-scoring targets are reached. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-11: Daniel Maldini scores in four consecutive matches for Cagliari Daniel Maldini has scored in four consecutive Serie A matches for Cagliari, leading them to a 1-1 draw against Juventus and securing his status as the club's September Player of the Month. 9 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/daniel-maldini-named-cagliari-player-of-the-month ### 2026-09-25: Daniel Maldini makes Italy national team debut against Belgium Cagliari attacker Daniel Maldini made his international debut for Italy in a Nations League match against Belgium, following a strong start to the season and praise from manager Roberto Mancini. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/daniel-maldini-makes-italy-national-team-debut-against-belgium --- Cite as: Daniel Maldini professional career developments.
