An initial YouGov study for Gjensidige found that two out of three drivers are irritated by motorists failing to maintain sufficient distance from the vehicle in front. Other cited issues included inattentive driving, such as mobile phone or GPS use, and the failure to use turn signals. Following these findings, the Danish Road Directorate (Vejdirektoratet) launched a safety campaign to address motorway safety. A subsequent Epinion study for the Directorate revealed that 88 percent of drivers experience others cutting into their lane with insufficient distance. The campaign, running through October 18, expands its focus to include the importance of maintaining distance from vehicles behind when changing lanes after overtaking.
