Sweden has emerged as an attractive market for international data center development, driven by the global expansion of artificial intelligence. The country’s appeal is attributed to its stable infrastructure, cool climate, and access to fossil-free electricity.

Industry experts indicate that the increasing scale of these projects requires navigating complex Swedish regulations and authority processes. As a specific development in this sector, Google has commenced construction on a new data center in Horndal, within the Avesta municipality of Dalarna. Following land acquisition a decade ago, the company has begun recruiting technical personnel for the facility.
