Dataprev, the public company managing Social Security information technology, is auctioning its headquarters, the Waldir Pires Building, located in the Botafogo neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro. The 22,782-square-meter facility, which spans 20 floors, is scheduled for auction on October 30, 2026, with an initial bid set at R$ 138.78 million.

The sale follows five years of technical and economic studies that evaluated various scenarios, including renovations. The current starting bid is approximately 20.7% higher than a 2019 valuation by Caixa Econômica Federal, which estimated the property at R$ 115 million.

As part of this transition, Dataprev is relocating approximately 1,200 employees to the Edifício Ventura in downtown Rio de Janeiro. The company has signed a contract worth roughly R$ 220 million to occupy over 10,000 square meters within the Ventura complex. Dataprev is expected to vacate the Botafogo premises within 90 days of the auction deed being granted.
