The Secretary of Tourism projected a 55 percent hotel occupancy rate, supported by over 6,500 available rooms. Key cultural attractions included the “Xantolo en tu ciudad” festivities and the “Ofrenda de Luz” videomapping spectacle at the Metropolitan Cathedral. As the celebrations progressed, various local institutions installed commemorative altars to honor the deceased. The Sistema Educativo Estatal Regular (SEER) dedicated an offering to musician Pedro Rosa Acuña to preserve Huastecan traditions. Martín Rodríguez Ramírez, head of SEER, stated that these activities aim to transmit the significance of the holiday to younger generations and preserve local cultural expressions. Additionally, the Junta Estatal de Caminos (JEC) prepared an altar to honor deceased road workers as part of an official offering contest organized by the Officialía Mayor. Both installations utilized traditional regional elements, such as cempasúchil flowers, photographs, candles, pan de muerto, and copal. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-30: San Luis Potosi institutions honor deceased with Day of the Dead altars San Luis Potosi's SEER and JEC institutions installed commemorative Day of the Dead altars to honor musician Pedro Rosa Acuña and deceased road workers. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/san-luis-potos-institutions-honor-deceased-with-day-of-the-dead-altars ### 2026-10-23: San Luis Potosí projects 251 million pesos in economic impact for Day of the Dead San Luis Potosí expects a 251 million peso economic boost and 55% hotel occupancy during Day of the Dead festivities. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/san-luis-potos-projects-251-million-pesos-in-economic-impact-for-day-of-the-dead --- Cite as: Day of the Dead celebrations in San Luis Potosí.
