Former Kogi State Governor Ibrahim Idris died in the United Kingdom on September 20, 2026, at the age of 77 following an illness. Idris, who served two terms as governor from 2003 to 2012 under the Peoples Democratic Party, was honored by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other political leaders.
