Veteran Hausa comedian Alhaji Muhammad Sani Gwarzo, known by his stage name Tumbuleke, died in Kaduna at the age of 86 following a prolonged illness. A prominent figure in Hausa-language entertainment, Gwarzo was well known for his work on the comedy programme ‘Gidan Kashe Ahu’ during the 1980s.

Following his death, Nigeria’s Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, visited the family to offer condolences. The minister described his passing as a “significant loss to the nation’s creative industry” and pledged that the Federal Government would explore ways to document and preserve his artistic legacy for future generations.
