Journalist Alejandro Perea, known for his work with Televisión Regional de San Lorenzo and FM Punta Quebracho, underwent emergency surgery for a serious intestinal condition. Following his initial admission to the Hospital Granaderos a Caballo in San Lorenzo on August 18, where he exhibited disorientation and difficulty speaking, he was transferred to a medical center in Rosario.

While medical reports initially indicated slight improvements in his kidney function and respiratory stability, Perea eventually passed away at the Sanatorio Plaza de Rosario. 

His death has led the Santa Fe Chamber of Deputies to request a formal report to investigate the initial medical response and the decision-making process regarding his transfer from San Lorenzo to Rosario.
