Her former agent, Miguel Crispim, noted she was in “excellent health,” stating she did not smoke or drink alcohol. After her career in the international fashion circuit, she had moved to the interior of Bahia to focus on her family.

At the time of her collapse, Alves was accompanied by her husband, José Sobrinho, and their seven-year-old son, Gael. Despite immediate medical intervention by doctors at the facility, she could not be resuscitated.
