Former NFL defensive end Allen Bailey died at the age of 37. His body was discovered by his wife at their Florida residence on October 20.

While an official cause of death has not been released by authorities, his brother, Alford Bailey Jr., stated that the family believes the death was due to natural causes. 

Bailey played ten seasons in the league, including eight seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs from 2011 to 2018 and two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. Following the news, his wife, Lauren Bailey, described the loss as a “punch to the gut” and expressed gratitude for community support. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes also expressed their grief regarding the former player.
