Quino, a highly decorated seven-year-old Labrador rescue dog from the Spanish NGO Intervención, Ayuda y Emergencias (IAE), has died in Valencia, Spain, following a mysterious medical condition.

Quino had recently completed a mission in La Guaira, Venezuela, to assist in search and rescue operations following devastating earthquakes in June. His career included significant deployments in Turkey, Morocco, Brazil, and during the DANA flooding in Valencia. For his service in Venezuela, the IAE volunteer team was decorated by Venezuelan authorities.

Following his return to Spain, the dog suffered from persistent nasal hemorrhages. Despite intensive medical interventions—including blood transfusions, corticosteroids, and various specialist consultations—and the use of advanced diagnostic tools like ultrasounds and CT scans, veterinarians were unable to identify the cause of the illness. Quino passed away at the Veterinary Clinic of the Catholic University of Valencia.
