Carlos Mauricio Gómez, a 30-year-old Salvadoran content creator known as ‘Komanche’, was found dead in a residence in the Paseo de las Cumbres neighborhood of Monterrey, Mexico. His body was discovered after neighbors noticed the property door had been left open.

Initial reports indicated that no immediate signs of violence were observed at the scene, with preliminary investigations suggesting the possibility of suicide following a social media post in which Gómez wrote, ‘The days simply do not improve.’ His manager, Byron Reyes, highlighted the impact of digital harassment, stating that ‘bullying at any scale is not a game.’

An autopsy conducted by the Forensic Medical Service determined the cause of death was asphyxiation by hanging. Gómez had been open about long-term mental health struggles, including depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Despite the autopsy findings, the General Prosecutor's Office of Nuevo León has maintained an active investigation to clarify the circumstances.

His death has sparked discussions regarding mental health awareness and the impact of social media. The community also faced tension following recent controversies involving influencer Fernanda Vaal, who had accused Gómez of misconduct, an allegation he had denied.

In response to the tragedy, Mexican streamer Samantha Rivera, known as Rivers, announced a temporary hiatus from social media. Friends and colleagues held a memorial service in Monterrey featuring music and food to honor his wishes. His remains are expected to be transported to El Salvador for burial.
