Turkish actor and producer Göksel Arsoy, a prominent figure of the Yeşilçam era known as ‘Altın Çocuk’ (Golden Boy), passed away at the age of 90. His death was announced by his daughter, Aşkım Arsoy, noting that while he had no major chronic illnesses in his final years, age-related vision issues had impacted his mobility.

Following his death, a funeral service was held at the Levent Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque in Istanbul. The ceremony was attended by family members, including his children Gökhan and Aşkım Arsoy, as well as representatives from the political and arts communities. The Turkish Air Force sent a wreath to the service in recognition of his work in the aviation-themed film ‘Şafak Bekçileri’. Arsoy was laid to rest at the Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.

Arsoy’s career included over 100 films, such as ‘Samanyolu’ and the ‘Altın Çocuk’ series. He was a recipient of the Presidential Culture and Arts Grand Prize. Birol Güven, Director General of Cinema at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, described Arsoy as part of a generation that left a ‘priceless treasure’ for the Turkish film industry.
