In August 2026, Azize Sibel Gönül, a former AK Party Member of Parliament for Kocaeli and former General Headquarters Women's Branch President, passed away in an Istanbul hospital while undergoing cancer treatment. Gönül, an architect and founding member of the AK Party in Kocaeli, had served during the 23rd and 24th terms of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

In September 2026, İsmet Zeynep Çiftçi, a member of the AK Party Women's Branch Central Decision and Management Board (MKYK), also passed away in Ankara following medical treatment. Çiftçi had held various roles within the AK Party Şanlıurfa Provincial Women's Branch. 

In both instances, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued messages of condolence, characterizing the deceased as a “valuable companion” or “valuable comrade in the path and the cause.”
