In mid-October 2026, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu participated in the ‘Adwitiya Ramlila 2026’ in Rohini, an event organized by the Sanatan Sanskaram Society to depict the exile of Lord Ram. The program also included a ceremony to honor distinguished sportspersons and coaches, such as Dronacharya Award recipient Rajkumar Sharma.

Following these cultural engagements, the Lieutenant Governor launched the inaugural DDA-University Sports Cup 2026. Scheduled to begin on October 27, the tournament involves athletes from 10 universities competing in five team sports. This initiative follows a previous DDA Sports Cup hockey tournament held at the Yamuna Sports Complex in early October.
