Delhi Higher Education Minister Ashish Sood has launched the ‘Service-First Innovation Challenge 2026’ at Delhi Technological University (DTU). The initiative features a 2 crore rupee prize pool and is designed to encourage students, startups, and technical institutes to develop technology-driven solutions for societal issues such as agriculture, waste management, education, clean energy, and rural development.

The 100-day challenge targets participants across northern India, including Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, and Ladakh. To support the transition from concept to implementation, the program provides mentorship from founders of various prominent startups and unicorns. This initiative is part of the Delhi Startup Policy, which aims to foster 10,000 startups and create 400,000 jobs.
