Various regions in Spain are hosting editions of the Democratic Memory Days, a program of cultural and educational events focused on historical memory.

In Asturias, the VI edition in Grado features artistic expressions such as dance, poetry, and cinema, including the short film ‘Tierres’ regarding Civil War repression. The program concludes in October with a tribute at the El Rellán estate, involving a floral offering at a mass grave and the presentation of recognition diplomas to families.

In the Alcoià and Comtat regions, the fifth edition includes conferences, literature, and music. This program explores the “lights and shadows” of the Spanish political Transition following the death of Franco in 1975. Scheduled activities include a conference by Baltasar Garzón on democracy and human rights, alongside documentaries regarding the dictatorship and the censorship of victims in the Valencian Country.
