The Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) has faced internal turmoil following an investigation by a party task force, which confirmed a substantial number of Shincheonji Church members have joined the party. Party leader Kim Min-seok reported that testimonies suggest organized involvement in party primaries, leading to factional conflicts and demands for transparency regarding a potential ‘three-way secret alliance’. As the controversy progressed, the DPK leadership decided to defer the full public disclosure of the investigation results to focus on other political priorities, such as parliamentary audits.
