In Milan, the Università Cattolica is hosting a traveling photographic exhibition titled ‘DC storia di un Paese’, which examines the party’s fifty-year existence between 1942 and 1994. The exhibition highlights the party’s role as a central pillar of the Italian ‘First Republic’ and its historical ties to the university. Further commemorations include a national photographic exhibition in Lauria, supported by the Ministry of Culture, titled ‘50 anni di vita della Dc (1942-1994)’. Additionally, in Spezia, the party held a pre-congress assembly in Carro to prepare for its XXI National Congress in Rome. During this assembly, regional commissioner Loriano Isolabella discussed the party’s historical role in post-war reconstruction and its involvement in upcoming municipal elections. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-19: Democrazia Cristiana marks 80th anniversary with exhibitions and political assemblies The Democrazia Cristiana is celebrating its 80th anniversary through a national photographic exhibition in Lauria and political assemblies in Spezia ahead of its national congress in Rome. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/democrazia-cristiana-marks-80th-anniversary-with-exhibitions-and-political-assemblies ### 2026-10-04: Democrazia Cristiana 80th anniversary marked by exhibition Università Cattolica is hosting a photographic exhibition in Milan to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Democrazia Cristiana, highlighting its role in Italian history from 1942 to 1994. 8 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/democrazia-cristiana-80th-anniversary-marked-by-exhibition --- Cite as: Democrazia Cristiana 80th anniversary commemorations.
