Actress Deva Cassel has been preparing for her lead role as Anastasia, a young Romanian dancer, in the French feature film ‘L’Amore Immortale’ (Le Fantôme de l’Opéra). To prepare for the role, Cassel underwent three months of intensive dance training. She expressed a desire to establish an identity independent of her parents, Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel.

Directed by Alexandre Castagnetti, the film is a contemporary reimagining of Gaston Leroux’s ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ that focuses on dance rather than singing. The narrative follows Anastasia as she joins the Paris Opera and enters a mysterious relationship with a hidden pianist. The film, which stars Cassel alongside Romain Duris, was scheduled for release on October 28, 2026, following its presentation at the Rome Film Festival.
