The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is pursuing international partnerships and domestic infrastructure expansions to support Dubai’s clean energy and water security goals.

In July 2026, a DEWA delegation visited Paris to engage with French energy firms, including EDF, TotalEnergies, and Engie. Discussions focused on cooperation regarding clean energy, green hydrogen, energy efficiency, and water desalination technologies.

By August 2026, DEWA’s domestic efforts highlighted the expansion of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, which is projected to exceed 8,000 MW by 2030. The authority is also developing the Hatta pumped-storage hydroelectric power plant, the first of its kind in the GCC, to enhance grid reliability and energy storage in alignment with the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050.
