Commemorations for Diego Maradona continue across Argentina through various cultural and academic initiatives. In Buenos Aires, a mural featuring Maradona and Fidel Castro was unveiled in the La Paternal neighborhood, created by artist César Fernández. In Córdoba, the ‘El Mes del Diego’ festival continues at the Pulki venue with art, music, and community activities.

Academic honors include the II International Congress on Diego Armando Maradona, titled ‘Tras las huellas de su legado’, hosted by the National University of La Plata. This event features debates on journalism, geopolitics, literature, human rights, and gender, with participation from sports figures, writers, and a delegation from the Accademia Napoletana.

On October 29, the football world marked what would have been Maradona’s 66th birthday. Tributes from the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Boca Juniors, Napoli, and Argentinos Juniors highlighted his legendary career and transformative impact, specifically his leadership during the 1986 World Cup. Former teammates and players have shared personal reflections, describing him as a natural leader who transcended the sport. His daughters, Dalma and Gianinna, also shared emotional messages on social media.

These commemorations occur as legal proceedings regarding the circumstances of his 2020 death continue. A verdict in the judicial case investigating his passing is expected on December 22.
