The DIF Morelos system has announced plans to establish a social assistance center specifically for the homeless population, with an expected opening date of May 2027. 

To facilitate this, authorities intend to conduct a state census in November to identify the needs of vulnerable individuals, particularly in Cuernavaca and its metropolitan area. Director General Eric Alquicira Cedillo noted that the initiative seeks to transition from “isolated charitable efforts” to a permanent institutional policy providing medical, social, and residential services. The center is slated to occupy facilities currently used by CEAGEN in the El Vergel neighborhood.
