An initial police operation in the capital led to the seizure of electronic devices and the formal charging of a man in a grooming investigation. This case has prompted criticism from child rights organizations regarding digital insecurity and the need for better preventive policies. Subsequent judicial proceedings have focused on the non-consensual distribution of intimate images and bullying involving a 17-year-old student. One investigation involves three adolescents charged with producing and distributing sexual representations of a minor, a charge currently under legal appeal. A second investigation addresses the harassment and verbal abuse the victim experienced, including incidents during a school trip. The provincial Ministry of Education and Labor has requested a report from the involved private school, which maintains it responded to the situation with speed and responsibility. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-23: Concordia: Students accused of using AI to create fake intimate images Three 14-year-old students in Concordia, Argentina, are accused of using AI to create fake intimate images of female classmates, prompting police intervention at their school. 13 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/catamarca-authorities-investigate-bullying-and-non-consensual-intimate-image-sharing ### 2026-10-16: Catamarca authorities investigate grooming case and digital insecurity Police in Catamarca seized electronic devices during a grooming investigation, prompting calls for better digital prevention policies and resources to protect minors from cybercrime. 7 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/catamarca-authorities-investigate-grooming-case-and-digital-insecurity --- Cite as: Digital crime and harassment investigations in Catamarca.
