Iran has moved to strengthen diplomatic and bilateral ties with regional neighbors. Following a meeting in Baku between Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the two nations are preparing to draft cooperation documents focused on border movement, trade, and emergency services.

Simultaneously, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian engaged in diplomatic consultations with Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq to emphasize regional stability. 

In a broader regional context, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers Council adopted the Baghdad Declaration. This declaration included a clause regarding the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. During the session, Azerbaijani representatives also addressed concerns regarding military tensions and the protection of Islamic cultural monuments.
