State governments in Nigeria have initiated relief programmes to assist victims of natural and fire disasters.

In Ondo State, the government launched an initiative to provide cash assistance and materials to approximately 7,000 residents affected by rainstorms and fire outbreaks. This programme includes support for traders impacted by a fire at the Ore Market in August 2026 and covers multiple local government areas.

In Edo State, Governor Monday Okpebholo has implemented welfare and reconstruction projects. Following a fire at the Oluku Market on October 15, 2026, the governor distributed food and relief materials provided by national and state emergency agencies, pledging to rebuild the market to modern standards. Additionally, the governor provided financial and material support to the National Youth Service Corps orientation camp in Okada.
