Developments: 8. Walt Disney Animation Studios has begun promoting its 65th animated feature, ‘Hexed’, which is scheduled for theatrical release on November 25, 2026. Initial updates provided exclusive footage and casting details to Disney Vacation Club members aboard the Disney Dream. The film, directed by Fawn Veerasunthorn, Jason Hand, and Josie Trinidad, features the voices of Hailee Steinfeld and Rashida Jones. The plot follows Billie Doe, an impulsive teenager, and her cautious mother, Alice, as they discover magical abilities that transport them to a witch realm known as Hexe. The voice cast has expanded to include Tracey Ullman, Stephen Fry, Walton Goggins, Henry Winkler, Dan Stevens, and Jodie Foster as the villainous Queen Celeste. As international promotion continues, Disney has unveiled localized details for various markets. In Italy, during the Alice nella città festival, producer Yvett Merino presented a preview of ‘Hexe: Il Regno delle Streghe’ and announced an Italian voice cast including Isabella Ferrari, Claudia Pandolfi, and Mariasole Pollio. In Brazil, the film, titled ‘Enfeitiçadas: Bem-vindos ao Hexe’, is set for a November 26 release, with Letícia Spiller confirmed to voice Queen Celeste. Addressing viewer speculation regarding the film’s teaser, directors Veerasunthorn and Hand clarified that the centralized framing used in the footage was a deliberate artistic choice to reflect the protagonist’s initial feelings of being “trapped and limited by her environment.” Award-winning composer Kris Bowers will provide the musical score, utilizing a blend of orchestra, synths, and unconventional sounds. In preparation for the release, lead actress Hailee Steinfeld has released ‘Magic’, a cover of the 1984 hit by The Cars, produced in collaboration with Demitri Lerios. Steinfeld noted that the recording process, conducted in a makeshift studio in Buffalo, felt meaningful due to her recent experience becoming a mother, which connects to the film’s central mother-daughter narrative. ## Claims - Hailee Steinfeld released a new song titled ‘Magic’ on Friday.
