Malaysian comedian Jep Sepahtu expressed frustration regarding an ongoing dispute with former colleague Shuib, alleging that their past friendship issues were being used as “marketing tools and publicity fodder in podcasts.” Jep criticized the public narrative surrounding the conflict and addressed allegations concerning performance payments and EPF contributions, asserting that financial dealings were handled on an individual basis.

Following the controversy, Shuib issued a public apology. He stated that he had reached out to Jep via WhatsApp to express regret for actions taken during a recording of the Dols Podcast, which was perceived to have mocked Jep regarding performance fees. Shuib noted that the dispute led to significant online criticism for his family and business, and expressed a desire to restore their long-standing professional friendship.
