Leaked retail packaging and technical specifications for the unannounced DJI Neo 3 drone suggest the device is nearing official release. Early leaks highlighted hardware upgrades such as a hub-and-spoke propeller guard system for lighter weight, new rear vents for improved cooling, and the inclusion of obstacle avoidance sensors.

Subsequent leaks regarding marketing materials and sensor specifications indicate a significant leap in imaging capabilities. The Neo 3 is expected to feature a 1/1.1-inch square CMOS sensor, a design intended to enable ‘true vertical shooting’ for portrait-oriented content at full resolution without gimbal rotation.

Other anticipated technical features include 2x lossless zoom, omnidirectional obstacle detection, and high-speed ActiveTrack with automatic camera movements. The device may also support palm takeoff and landing, one-handed gesture control, and a ‘SelfieShot 2.0’ capability. While the Fly More Combo bundle appears to include a DJI RC Mini controller, specific details regarding video resolution, bitrate, and flight time remain unconfirmed. The device is expected to weigh approximately 192.7 grams.
