Meena Geltink and Minal Tijssen, two women adopted from an Indian orphanage as infants, have discovered they are biological sisters through a commercial DNA test.

The pair originally met in 1996 at a gathering for adopted children in the Netherlands. Despite noticing a physical resemblance and feeling an immediate connection, they lost contact for approximately 15 years while being raised in separate Dutch families. 

The kinship was confirmed following a DNA test conducted by Tijssen, who currently resides in France. Geltink, a mother living in the Netherlands, described the discovery as finding a “missing puzzle piece” that addressed a long-standing emotional void. The sisters have since reunited in 's-Hertogenbosch to celebrate their biological bond.
