The Democratic Renewal of Macedonia (DOM) party has called for increased transparency and public justification regarding the selection of a site for the National Data Center. 

Following flooding in the former ‘Nova Makedonija’ building, which underscored the need for secure digital infrastructure, DOM is requesting that the Government and the Ministry of Digital Transformation publish the specific criteria used for the site selection and clarify if alternative locations were evaluated. The party is also seeking technical details regarding the project’s capacity in megawatts and planned operational solutions. 

DOM maintains that environmental and social impact studies must be substantive parts of the planning process, arguing that public information and participation should be integrated into the early stages of planning rather than being treated as a final formality.
