Greek journalist Anthí Voulgári filed a domestic violence complaint against her husband, musician Kóstas Konstantinídis, following an incident in Agía Paraskeví involving allegations of verbal abuse and physical assault. Konstantinídis was initially taken into custody but denied physical violence, admitting only to an “intense argument”.

By August 26, the presenter’s lawyer informed the Summary Court of her intention to retract the allegations, stating she does not feel threatened and characterizing the event as an “intense verbal altercation”. Despite this attempt to withdraw the statement, the prosecution continued to pursue criminal charges for simple domestic bodily harm, as the offense is prosecuted ex officio. While the defendant’s detention was lifted, the court had ordered him to stay away from the family residence pending a final verdict.

On September 1, a Greek Misdemeanor Court acquitted Konstantinídis of the misdemeanor charge of simple domestic bodily harm committed in the presence of a minor, following the prosecutor’s recommendation. During the proceedings, Voulgári testified that the August 24 incident involved a heated argument while preparing to take their child to a pediatrician. She noted feeling a “pull on her hair” during the tension but clarified that she sustained no physical injury. 

The court lifted the previous restrictive order requiring Konstantinídis to reside separately from his wife and child. The couple stated they intend to seek professional counseling to resolve their issues, and the defendant expressed remorse, stating he had repented and would work with a specialist to prevent future occurrences. Following the legal proceedings, Voulgári returned to her television duties on Mega Channel, focusing on her professional work without addressing the personal matter during her broadcast premiere.
