The Left Party (Vänsterpartiet) is advocating for an “emergency loophole” in municipal personnel policy, which would provide employees experiencing domestic violence with five to ten days of extra paid leave to facilitate fleeing dangerous situations or arranging housing. 

Additionally, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has proposed stricter legal measures to protect women from lethal violence. These proposals include granting police the power to issue mandatory warnings to potential victims and relatives, increasing surveillance capabilities such as phone tapping, and allowing for the forcible detention of dangerous individuals when the risk of violence is clear.
