In Brazil, government entities are implementing rental assistance programs to support women victims of domestic violence.

In the state of São Paulo, a program launched in February 2025 provides an emergency payment of R$ 500 to help women relocate to safer environments. The initiative covers nearly 92% of the state's municipalities. To qualify, applicants must reside in São Paulo, hold an urgent protective measure under the Maria da Penha Law, and have a family income not exceeding two minimum wages. The benefit is granted for an initial six months and can be extended for another six months.

Similarly, the Blumenau City Council has moved toward approving municipal rental aid for victims who cannot return to their homes. This proposed project shares similar eligibility requirements, including social vulnerability and a family income of up to two minimum wages. Priority under this local proposal is given to women with two or more minor children.
