Non-profit organizations in the Dominican Republic have launched various initiatives to distribute school supplies and backpacks to children in vulnerable communities ahead of the new academic year.

In late August, the Fundación Amigos de Sabana Larga provided kits to students in the Los Arroyos and Las Malaguetas communities. Simultaneously, the Fundación Sur Apoyarte distributed 800 backpacks across the Peravia province, including Baní and surrounding areas, to assist families facing economic difficulties. 

Following these efforts, the Fundación Rincón held a distribution event at the Las Galeras City Hall in Samaná. Supported by local municipal authorities, this program provided students with backpacks and educational materials to help alleviate the costs of uniforms and supplies for families.
