The Dominican Republic has initiated a series of infrastructure projects to strengthen border security and territorial control along the frontier with Haiti.

In late August, the Ministry of Defense and the Border Development Foundation (FUNDEFRO) inaugurated new military installations in the Jimaní region. These include two triangular-designed military forts, known as ‘Tetraedros’, with work on a third facility underway.
