The Dominican Republic has seen an increase in auditing activities focused on public resource management and financial transparency. In July 2026, the Chamber of Accounts (CCRD) published five new audit reports, bringing the total number of audits and special investigations to 110 since the current administration began in April 2025. These reports covered various sectors, including the National Police, the Ministry of Education, the Superintendence of Electricity, and the municipalities of Boca Chica and San Cristóbal.

Following these developments, audits by the Comptroller General of the Republic identified significant financial discrepancies within the Ministry of Agriculture regarding the period between 2020 and 2024. Specifically, between 2021 and 2023, the Ministry’s budget execution was reported to be seven times higher than its annual public procurement and contracting plan. The Comptroller noted that these discrepancies, which included spending that exceeded the Annual Operating Plan by RD$24,523.3 million, may violate Law 10-17 and indicate that procurement processes might have been executed outside of legal frameworks.
