The Dominican Senate has held ceremonies to recognize prominent figures for their contributions to national culture and sports.

In late October 2026, the Senate honored baseball figures Vitelio Mejía Ortiz and Milcíades Arturo (Junior) Noboa Díaz for their roles in strengthening national baseball and supporting youth development.

Following this, the Senate recognized musician Manuel Tejada and visual artist Elsa Núñez for their impact on the nation’s arts. The ceremony for the artists, which included appearances by singer-songwriter Juan Luis Guerra, celebrated Tejada’s influence on merengue and Núñez’s six-decade career in visual arts.
