Sources: 6. Developments: 2. Donald Trump has faced increasing scrutiny regarding his interactions with female journalists and his broader relationship with the media. Initial reports highlighted criticism of his conduct toward reporters, such as ABC News’ Rachel Scott, amid discussions concerning national debt and economic incentives. These incidents have been framed within wider concerns regarding sexism and the gender gap in media representation. Subsequent tensions escalated as the President engaged in combative exchanges with reporters outside the White House. This included telling an MS NOW reporter to ‘wait, wait, quiet’ following questions about potential limits on the White House press pool. These verbal confrontations coincide with legal and administrative conflicts over media access. While a federal judge blocked attempts to ban specific outlets like CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House, the President has continued to restrict access, such as barring CNN from boarding Air Force One. Trump has defended these actions by labeling certain outlets ‘fake news’ while asserting his support for an ‘open free press’ that provides ‘real news.’ ## Timeline ### 2026-09-26: Donald Trump tells female reporter to be ‘quiet’ during press exchange President Donald Trump told a female reporter to be ‘quiet’ during a press exchange and dismissed the idea that women govern better than men as ‘ridiculous’ while defending his media restrictions. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/donald-trump-tells-female-reporter-to-be-quiet-during-press-exchange ### 2026-09-10: Donald Trump faces criticism over interactions with female journalists Donald Trump's verbal confrontations with female reporters highlight ongoing issues of misogyny and gender disparity in global news coverage. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/donald-trump-faces-criticism-over-interactions-with-female-journalists --- Cite as: Donald Trump media relations and journalist interactions.
